Supported Browsers Chesspark supports Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Apple’s Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6*. This means we expect you to be able to play games, chat, and use the Chesspark website with the above browsers. If you are using a web browser that is not on the above list and are experiencing a problem, we will ask you to use a supported browser and see if the problem goes away. There Can Be Differences Between Browsers There may be minor differences in how the site looks with different browser versions. This is normal and in most cases is a result of the browser, not a problem with Chesspark. We work very hard and test continuously to make Chesspark compatible with all our supported browsers. However if you have a case where you think something is not working in one supported browser, but does work in another, you can let us know by using Report a Problem in the Chesspark client. A Special Note for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (IE6) Users Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 is getting on in age, and as a result does not perform well with the newer technology we use in Chesspark. We know a lot of people still use IE6, and that’s why we work hard to support it. However IE6 does not run Chesspark as fast as newer browsers. Games in IE6 will load slower and actions will take much longer. This can make the game appear to lag when there is really no problem with the server. This behavior is not a bug or a problem with Chesspark, it is due to limitations of the browser. Therefore if you have the option we strongly recommend you update to Internet Explorer 7. Or if you need to keep IE6 for some reason, use one of the other supported browsers like FireFox in order to have the best Chesspark experience. You will feel the difference, and games will be smoother and faster. |
